Melbourne regions could foresee a need for a placement
service and management of casual relief teachers
for their schools, as schools were becoming self
managed entities.
Primary Education Management researched the advantages
of establishing a placement service that would
benefit the casual relief teacher and also the
schools, best management practice would offer
to schools a simplistic system and the casual
relief teachers would benefit from using a single
source for all placements.
The focus back in 1999 and today is to have in
place a system of a low commission fee paid by
the casual relief teacher and a low daily placement
fee paid by the schools but supplying a highly
efficient and professional service.
